OBJECTIVES

Build an understanding of Common Learning Difficulties: Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia

Understand the implications of including students with SLD/ ADHD in mainstream classrooms

Build the participant’s Skills in screening and early identification

Determine students’ levels of performance and learning profiles (determine students learning styles) and develop the individual Education Plans – IEPs for students with LD

Define the role of the Resources Rooms

Define the instructional considerations to meet the needs of students with LD in inclusive and special needs classrooms

Review of most effective teaching strategies and interventions (interactive learning, cooperative learning, visual aids, differentiated instruction)

Use classroom data to inform instruction: Reteach and Enrich

Understand the difference between curriculum modifications and types of accommodations that need to be provided to students.

Review the role of assistive technology and be introduced to many applications that might support students’ with Learning Difficulties
